The former 171 line has been migrating to VEN 9-1-1 since 2019 and availability varies by region; use it only as a backup. If calling from abroad, dial +58 before the number (drop the leading 0: +58 800-7372282).
OCHA is coordinating search and rescue teams through the UN INSARAG system. The IFRC launched an emergency appeal for 50 million Swiss francs to support the response.
